President's Message
Hello IIAO Members:
I am excited to have been a part of the IIAO organization for the past 20 years and honored to now serve as your IIAO
President.
I hope you enjoyed the Holiday Luncheon on December 10th and especially our 9-year old pianist, Derek Penner, and
that everyone was able to walk away with a little give-away!
I can’t believe we are almost a full month into 2016 already! So I thought I would give you some updates: several years ago I was part of the committee that researched five different locations to hold our luncheons. We were looking for something that not only was adequately priced but also offered a nice venue. Champions Run has turned out to be a great choice for our group.
We have streamlined our meeting survey to one in the beginning of our session and one at the end. If at any time if you would like to contribute any constructive feedback that you feel would be beneficial, please don’t hesitate to contact me, Chief Administrator Joe Pittman, or any board member as we truly value your opinions. This is YOUR association – and together we can continue to make it a GREAT success!
Our Association has done well over the past several years and we have managed to maintain a solid financial foundation. We have seen continued growth in our membership and our sponsors and because we have been successful we would really like to give back more to our community. So starting with this month's luncheon, we will bump our donations for our featured charities from $100 to $200 and we truly appreciate all of the extra donations from our Association members. These charities are extremely grateful of our donations and our acknowledgement to their cause.
On January 28, our presenter will be Stephanie Watts, AFSB -- an Account Executive in Bond and Specialty Insurance for Travelers. She will speak to us on "Cyber Facts, FAQ’s and Overcoming Client Objections" - it will be a great program so if you have not yet signed up to attend, please be sure to do so.
I look forward to seeing everyone in 2016!

Legislative Update
New Big "I" Ambassadors In Action
Members of IIAN's new "Big "I" Ambassadors" group have been contacting their Nebraska state senators since early November - developing working relationships and introducing senators to IIAN'S legislative priorities. The group was formed last fall, as part of IIAN's new Legislative Advisory Council (LAC), chaired by John Deardorff of Omaha. LAC members meet quarterly by conference call to provide member feedback and support to IIAN's Legislative committee, chaired by Bob Hoppe of Columbus, and IIAN Legislative Representative Jim Cavanaugh, throughout the year.
Open to all IIAN members - read more and how to get involved.
